Our sewing threads for embroidery
Machine embroidery can be done with more than just machine embroidery threads. Our sewing threads can also be used to create numerous embroidery designs stylishly and reliably. This creates different optical and haptic effects depending on the material and properties of the thread. Exciting effects can be achieved, especially in combination with evenly reflective viscose or brilliantly glossy polyester. The interplay of shiny materials with more matte finishes and the deliberate use of different thread thicknesses lend depth, texture, and character to embroidery designs. This creates individual results that make each embroidery motif unique.

The interplay makes the difference
The quality of an embroidery motif depends on the harmonious interplay of all the materials used:
Fabric, stabilization, needle, machine embroidery thread, bobbin thread and machine settings all shape the embroidery pattern that will emerge.
Fabrics, weaves and other textile and non-textile materials differ in structure, density and stretchability. They react differently to stitch density, thread tension and stabilization. The surface finish and thickness of the material also have a significant effect on the appearance of an embroidered motif. The sharpness of the contours, opacity and feel of the embroidery vary from fabric to fabric. The choice of machine embroidery thread, needle and stabilization is based on the respective properties of the material and the desired appearance of the motif.
The needle must match the fabric and the machine embroidery thread used. Different fabric types, thread thicknesses and thread surfaces place different requirements on the needle point, thickness and size of the needle eye. Needles specially developed for machine embroidery often have a ball point, a wider needle eye and a pronounced thread groove. In addition to classic embroidery needles, special variants such as metallic or top stitch needles are also used, depending on the application. A needle that is matched to the material and thread contributes to a smooth stitch formation and can reduce the stress on the embroidery thread and fabric. Changing the needle after about six to eight hours promotes consistent embroidery quality.
Embroidery fleece and stabilizers help the fabric retain its shape when being embroidered, reduce distortion, and make contours appear clearer. Variants differing in thickness, processing and function are used depending on the type of fabric and size of the motif. A wide range of different embroidery fleeces and stabilizers are available today – from tearable and cut-off variants to water-soluble films. Iron-on or self-adhesive fleeces are suitable for sensitive or stretchy fabrics, depending on the application. Water-soluble variants are ideal for lace patterns. Toppings are recommended for terry cloth and other fabrics with loops or fabrics with piles, such as velvet.
The type of clamping affects the embroidery pattern that will emerge. The fabric is fixed uniformly in the embroidery frame without being stretched. Different stress conditions can influence contour sharpness and dimensional stability. The combination of fabric and the chosen stabilization is also closely connected with clamping. Careful preparation creates uniform conditions for machine embroidery.
In addition to fabric, machine embroidery thread, stabilization and needle, the settings of the embroidery machine also shape the result. Thread tension, stitch density and embroidery speed all influence the uniformity, contour sharpness and surface coverage of the motif. Only the coordinated interaction of all components with the embroidery machine will result in a high-quality embroidery pattern.

Bobbin
The 100 % polyester Bobbin thread aids in making uniform stitchwork and contributes to a clean stitch pattern on the back of the embroidery motif. It is exceptionally fine yet tear-resistant, even at high stitching speeds, and ensures smooth unwinding from the bobbin thanks to its even surface. The fine thread thickness enables the bobbin to hold more thread and can be combined with machine embroidery threads of different thicknesses and materials. Quality shows itself not only in the visible embroidery motif, but also in the uniform and clean back of the embroidery.
*Trilobal
Trilobal refers to machine embroidery threads made of polyester filaments whose cross-section is triangular rather than round. This special geometry reflects light on three pronounced surfaces, creating an intense, even sheen. The triangular structure intensifies the light effect as compared to a round cross-section, and makes colors appear clearer and more vivid.
**Mercerized
Mercerized means the cotton sewing threads are chemically refined by treating the raw yarn with concentrated sodium hydroxide. The fibers swell realign and the surface becomes smoother and more even. The result is increased strength and color fastness as well as a subtle, natural sheen.
